Ghosted feat. Kamille

Get Some

Ghosted is composed of 3 powerhouse producers—guilty of hits for unknown acts like Maroon 5, Jess Glyne and Emeli Sandé—who team up with the singer/songwriter behind Little Mix and The Saturdays' "What About Us" on a debut single that positions 4 underdogs to finally get theirs by singing about getting some. It's sort of like taking Lil' Kim and Cupcakke's sentiments, smoothing out the delivery enough that the "fucks" and "hornys" could almost go unnoticed, and putting it all over a boucning, pop-perfect EDM beat. The result is something your Mom would sing-a-long to in the car until the juxtaposition hits and she scrambles to switch the station while checking to see if anyone heard.

We're in the latter third of the summer but we may have the season's super clever, sexually-capricious, NSA summer bangin' banger on our hands. I'm not completely stereotyping, but if there's one thing that's always seasonally assumed when it comes to the gays and summertime it's an "I don't want anything serious right now, dude... but I live real close if you wanna get naked" attitude and Kamille is singing that attitude's trampy anthem. Its trampthem if you will:

I don't, I don't need no candlelight
You just need to fuck me right
Guess I ain't the loving kind
I just wanna get some

Remixes are trickling in, the credits thus far going to Danny Dove, who turns in a T-dance or early evening-style mix, and Jaded, who give the track a super dubby, afterhours rub. "Get Some" is still building momentum though, so more mixes are likely to be coming along.
