Ptown is filled with hot men from mid-spring to late fall, but if you want to be there the weekend when the hottest men from around the world converge, it's the week-long celebration our naton's independence. The bars, club, pool deck, rooms, restaurant and grounds of the Crown and Anchor are at the center of the action. Dance to your favorite DJs at night or by day at the pool parties. July 4th was never so sizzling.
Every August, Ptown hosts this world-famous celebration that culminates in a fantasy parade. Be sure to check ahead, because every year, there is a theme, and everyone plans an outfit that takes it to new heights — or lows, which are even better.
This state-of-the-art dance hall's deck and outside bar are the perfect places to chill in between hard dancing sessions. It hosts numerous themed events all season long that bring in the crowds. But it's the July Fourth week that really packs them in. It’s a great place to catch the fireworks over the harbor. The Fireman’s Ball (also in July) is the high point of Bear Week, while Carnival (in August) climaxes with the Closing Party. Check out the adjacent Wave Bar and leather-themed Vault.
This dark, low-ceilinged bar with a back patiois funky but fun. Expect a mix of old and new music. Dance or cruise in the back yard; then visit the Macho Bar, an upstairs haunt where you’ll be titillated by the latest TitanMen projected on the wide-screen TV.
Despite the nominal address, this is actually in the Gifford House on Bradford Street. At the Sunday night Leather Dance Party, the dance floor gets downright steamy. Go other times for a less frenzied experience, to play pool or shoot darts. At the Porchside Lounge, you can relax on the inn’s expansive porch that’s right out of the 19th century.
Tea Dance at the Boatslip
Ptown’s most venerable tradition happens daily during high season. With a panoramic view of the harbor, this is the place to see and be seen, either on the deck or the sunken dance floor in the late afternoon into the early evening.
